The Monkey Farm is in the process of creating what we believe to be the first animal and human recovery center in the world that will be completely self-sufficient and sustainable. Our hope is that our revolutionary self-sufficient rescue center will become the model for future centers to follow worldwide. All rescue centers in the world that we know of, are dependent on outside sources for water, energy, and food to feed both the animals and the humans.  This means that if a natural disaster or any type of emergency were to happen, the animals could be in serious danger of not being able to be cared for.  We intend to create a rescue center model that is self-sufficient in every way.

We care as much about our fellow men as we do animals. We offer a faith-based residential addiction recovery center for free that lasts 13 months long. Every Tuesday evening, we feed the homeless in nearby Playas del Coco and provide clothing for them. Every Saturday morning, you will find us providing Free Equine therapy at the farm to local children with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and down’s syndrome. We offer a Powerful Therapeutic Equine Experience that helps with blocked emotions. Click on “Book Now” to see how you can come and help us!

There is no government funding for programs as unique as ours. Other than donations, all of this is supported only by our interactive tours and guided horseback tours and treks riding through the jungle and on the beach. Come and play with our baby animals, milk our goats, try our medicinal plants, learn about aquaponics, and see what we are doing!  We love visitors!

IMPORTANT to NOTE: We are NOT a zoo. Only a licensed zoo is allowed to display monkeys or other wildlife in cages for the public to see. We do not keep monkeys on display in cages. All the monkeys that live on the farm are free range. This means that you are not guaranteed monkeys will be in sight when you visit.

The Monkey Farm is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization registered in the United States and also a Costa Rica registered non-profit. All donations are tax deductible.
